Thanks for playing at 1001 Games! Below, in plain language, are the rules that apply when you use our website. Take a minute to read them, so you know where you stand.
1. About these terms
These terms apply to everyone who visits or uses 1001 Games. By using the site, you agree to what's written below. Are you under 16? Then read them together with your parents or guardians.
We may update these terms, for example if the site changes or if the law requires it. The date at the top shows when we last changed something.
2. Using the website
You can play all the games on 1001 Games for free for your own, non-commercial use. You don't use the site in a way that bothers others, disrupts how it works or causes damage.
You may not use automated scripts, bots or scrapers, get around security, or offer games outside our site without written permission.
3. Your account
An account is free and optional. With an account you save your high scores and favourites and can post comments. You need to be at least 13 to create one; from 13 to 15, only with permission from your parents or guardians. You're responsible for your login details and for everything that happens under your account.
Think someone else is using your account? Change your password and get in touch with us. We may block or delete an account in case of abuse or a breach of these terms.
4. Comments, ratings and scores
Everything you post stays yours, but you give us permission to show it on the site. Don't post offensive, discriminatory, threatening or otherwise inappropriate content, no advertising and no personal data about yourself or others.
We may remove contributions without giving a reason. Scores achieved with cheats or by exploiting bugs in a game may be removed from the leaderboard.
5. Third-party games
Some of the games are made and supplied by outside developers and loaded from their servers. Extra terms from the developer may apply to those games.
Does a game no longer work, or has its developer stopped supporting it? Then we may remove the game from the site without notice.
6. Intellectual property
The name, logo, design and texts of 1001 Games are protected. The games themselves belong to their creators. You may not copy, distribute or reuse anything from the site without permission from the rights holder.
Think there's material on the site that you hold the rights to? Let us know via the contact page and we'll deal with it as soon as possible.
7. Ads and links
The site is paid for by ads. Ads and links to other websites are outside our responsibility; we have no influence over their content.
If you click through to another website, that party's terms and privacy policy apply.
8. Availability and liability
We do our best to keep the site and the games running well, but we can't guarantee that everything is always available everywhere without errors. Maintenance, outages or changes can lead to temporary interruptions.
1001 Games is not liable for damage caused by using the site, loss of saved scores or data, or a game being unavailable, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.
9. Privacy and cookies
How we handle your data is described in our privacy policy. There you can read which data we keep, why we do it and how you can have it deleted.
The site uses cookies to remember your preferences, track visitor numbers and show ads. You can change your preferences at any time.
10. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by Dutch law, as 1001 Games is run by a Dutch company. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
